Description

Volunteers will set up residents with their individual Music and Memory Ipod. Volunteers will monitor residents who are unable to verbalize to ascertain if they are enjoying the music or if there is a change in behavior. Volunteers will engage in conversation about music and other topics depending on the resident. Volunteers will document in the music and memory binder and ensure that ipods are plugged in to charge for the next session. Volunteers should know a wide range of music and have an understanding or willingness to learn how to use the ipod shuffle. Music has a tremendous impact on folks with dementia as music played, that was enjoyed by someone years ago, will help with memories and remembering experiences.
