Foodsharing Ottawa (FSO) has been rescuing surplus food in Canada’s capital since 2015. We donate most of our rescued food to a network of 40+ organizations in the city. We are passionate about supporting fairer, more sustainable ways of distributing, using and disposing of food. We are looking for someone who is motivated and shares this passion to be our Operations Lead.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for someone to coordinate and oversee activities across the various FSO teams, to provide leadership to review and establish proper processes and procedures to ensure things run smoothly across the organization. We are looking for someone who can commit to an average of 10 hours/week of volunteer work. Although previous experience in leading teams and/or operational aspects of internal/external communications, outreach, volunteer management, fundraising is an asset, we value the following:

Responsibilities
As an Operations Lead, you will work with team leads to ensure FSO activities are coordinated across teams, and that issues are addressed in a timely manner. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Executive Director to ensure activities are aligned with the organization’s strategic plan. You will also support the Board of Directors as required to advise and provide recommendations on new and current initiatives. Other duties could include providing updates to the Board of Directors, presenting at the Annual General Meeting. Other administrative tasks will be required from time to time.
