Description

All throughout Pride in August we have a number of special events that will require your care and attention for setup, takedown and reception. The process is simple, simply e-mail [email protected], the volunteer coordinator will reach out to you with a brief training and a signup list for our special events!

Here is our calendar for August!

This month is Ottawa Pride Festival, ACO will be walking with the parade on the 27th, signup and walk with us in Centretown – exact location coming soon. We also need help putting together safer sex kits on Aug 9 & 23 (1-3PM).

This month, our two big outreach days during pride are the 26 & the 27th on Bank street. We will be giving out safer-sex materials, harm-reduction materials and more!

Safer sex kit packing for outreach, condoms, lube, information and more! August 9 & 23 | 1-3PM at 19 Main st.

How will the organization benefit?
Pride is a key timing during the year where smaller agencies like ACO are able to 'punch above their weight' and access larger general demographics. Our outreach and education work is vital in combatting HIV stigma, and in educating our local community with our local community through an ARAO and harm reduction lens.
Volunteer location:
various throughout the city, particularly centrally located events
