The Canadian Centre for Men and Families Ottawa is looking for two individuals to run a new program called Survivors of False Allegations Co-ed or SOFA Co-ed. This new group offers a safe place for people of all genders to discuss their situations as well as to get support from their peers in the group who are currently going through false allegations or have been cleared of false allegations and are there to support the people just starting out in their journey.

This group is run bi-weekly on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm. Light administrative work will need to be done during the week but will amount to no more than 5 hrs every two weeks. More hours can be added if desired.

The facilitator will:
Need to know/learn how to run zoom meetings
Have an understanding of basic data entry
Know/learn how to use Google Account and its applications
Have an understanding of therapeutic approaches to help clients
Guide conversations by giving support not advice
Liaise with professionals and invite them to present at a meeting

Any person can apply for this position; however, a person with a diploma/degree in Health, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Mental Health, etc will be an asset. A person who has gone through a false allegation situation themselves will also be considered, however, this is not a requirement.

A minimum commitment of 3 months is generally required, however, exceptions can be made and longer volunteer periods are always welcome. Positions can be either fully virtual or hybrid (Virtual and inperson).
