Description
Connected Canadians is a national digital inclusion charity that provides free technology training and support to Canadian seniors, fostering digital literacy skills and reducing isolation and loneliness.
Are you new to Canada, with a technology background, and looking for an opportunity to gain community connections and practice your English (and/or French)? Consider applying to be a technology mentor with us.
Please apply directly through our website via: https://www.connectedcanadians.ca/apply-newcomer-mentors
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Through partnerships with senior-serving organizations and technology companies, Connected Canadians provides one-on-one training, workshops, customized employee training and volunteering experiences. Many of our mentors are newcomers to Canada, highly skilled in technology, who benefit from the conversational opportunities and Canadian workplace experience, while senior clients feel pride and connection in welcoming these newcomers into our communities. By 2030, our goal is for all older Canadians to have access to free technology training and support.
If you are selected for this role, you will receive training to help you teach older learners; Pending successful completion of your hours, you will receive an Internet stipend and a $500 honorarium.
