We are looking for a Registered Social Worker – MSW (Master – Social Work) for one on one counselling. Person must have a Master’s Degree Social Work for this position. Person must volunteer once a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Onyx Community Services is open during the week – from Monday to Friday. Volunteer can also work on a Saturday if they want – Onyx Community Services will be open 3 Saturdays a month. Some clients can pay on a sliding scale.

Areas include addictions, Stress Management, Anger Management, general counselling, life skills. Must volunteer for a minimum of 6 hours a week. Must have some relative experience and education related to the position. Bilingualism is an asset.

This will give you an opportunity to upgrade and maintain current skills, and for those who are studying addiction, social work or psychology, this will give you the exposure to mental health that you need in the future. You will receive after 300 hrs., a letter of good standing and a reference letter for employment.
