Application Deadline: October 28, 2022

Description

We are seeking a volunteer to help research current grant and funding opportunities related to a few of our programs and initiatives. The opportunity involves conducting internet-based research to identify foundation, government and corporate giving programs which align with our programs. The desired output from the volunteer would be a spreadsheet containing information on each opportunity, including application processes and deadlines. The position does not involve grant writing or the submission of applications, but the volunteer would be welcome to be involved in those steps as well should there be an interest in learning more about the process. We can provide a spreadsheet template for the volunteer to complete as they conduct research.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
This is a great way to learn more about fundraising in the non-profit sector, hone research and data management skills and gain volunteer experience from home or otherwise remotely as there is no need for the volunteer to be on-site to carry out this work. This is a great way to earn community volunteer hours and we would be pleased to provide the volunteer with a reference.
How will the organization benefit?
As a non-profit organization with a reliance on grants to fund most of our work, this role is essential to the health of the organization. As the fundraising landscape continues to change, we need to identify new sources of funding and as new initiatives at the organization come on stream, like new conservation programs, we will need to identify additional sources of funding.
