Run Ottawa Board of Directors Opportunities

Description
These are exciting times for Run Ottawa! This has been a great year for running, for members of Run Ottawa and for all running enthusiasts in our community.
We want all of you to learn more about how our organization works and we would encourage all members to get involved. The governance structure of Run Ottawa includes a Board of Directors, and the members of this board play a role in governing and strategic planning. All of the members have things in common, but most importantly, they all share a passion for running and energy for advancing the sport of running in the Ottawa/Gatineau community. All of them are volunteers.
Each year, the Board looks to find new people, and nominations are brought to the Annual General Meeting held in November of each year. The Board is always seeking to find members of Run Ottawa who would be willing to dedicate some time to help our organization. Current and past members have brought expertise and experience in many different areas and Run Ottawa also highly values equity, diversity and inclusion. If you have any questions or an interest in assisting in the governance of the organization, please reach out to us. Your questions or expressions of interest will be greatly valued.
The application process will carry on throughout the summer and in the early Fall the governance committee will be reaching out to all applicants to set up brief interviews. Following the interview process recommendations will be put to the board in order to create a recommended slate of candidates to present at our AGM.
Our board members typically give about 10 hours a month of their time which includes board meetings and committee work.
Feel free to contact Executive Director Ian Fraser ([email protected]) or our Nominations Committee Chairperson Patrick Girard ([email protected]). We will be very pleased to hear from you. Also, you are always welcome to reach out to any of the other Board members.
Thank you!
