School Breakfast Program Food Preparation Volunteer
The Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) is seeking volunteers to help run our School Breakfast Programs (SBP) in Ottawa schools. The program serves 16,500 meals every day, providing students in need with a nutritious breakfast – giving them the chance to start their day ready to learn on equal footing with their peers.
Volunteer duties vary but typically include one or more of the following tasks
Food preparation like washing, cutting, cooking
Tracking and/or attendance
VOLUNTEERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER.
We ask volunteers to apply to our volunteer database, providing 2 references and a clear Police Vulnerable Sector records Check (PVSC). We will provide a personalized letter for volunteers to use in the application for the PVSC to waive the fee.
Once the screening/training process is complete and approved, you will be connected with the school volunteer coordinator to discuss the details/ scheduling.
