Description

a Company of Fools, the longest-running professional Shakespeare company in Ottawa, is seeking volunteers for our Shakespeare in the Park summer tour. We are a non-profit organization committed to making theatre accessible to everyone through our fun and foolish park performances. For our 2022 season, we will be touring productions of The Tempest (June 20th to August 13) and Hamlet (September 12 to October 1st) in 40 parks all across the city.

Volunteers will greet patrons, answer questions and hand out programs prior to the show. After enjoying the (free!) performance, volunteers will direct audience members towards merchandise, donations and exits. The time commitment is about 3 hours per performance, beginning at 6:15pm and finishing at 9:00pm. Volunteers will need to stand for approximately 45 minutes at a time, but volunteers who use mobility aids can be accommodated at many of our locations.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, free shows, volunteer hours (if applicable), the chance to help out your community, and the opportunity to become an Official Fool!
