CCI Ottawa is seeking volunteers with a knowledge of the game of soccer, and ideally some experience as a referee, to support our semi-competitive soccer program running this summer.
Volunteers will be expected to referee soccer games in Centretown that will run every Saturday (approximately 3pm-6pm) as part of an ongoing league running this summer. While the league is recreational, there is a competitive aspect and referees must have a sound knowledge of the game and be comfortable applying the rules in a professional manner.
Volunteers with refereeing experience would be an asset, but individuals that have a sound knowledge of the game/rules would also be considered.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will gain valuable experience refereeing semi-competitive soccer games in a summer league hosted by CCI Ottawa. Volunteers will interact with youth from very diverse cultural backgrounds and act as a leader and role model for those involved in the program.
How will the organization benefit?
CCI Ottawa provides safe and accessible recreation programs for newcomers to Ottawa and Canada, and with the support of volunteers and community partners are able to provide a high quality program that benefits all that are involved and supports the integration of newcomers in to the Ottawa community.
