Social Media Coordinator

Gain real-world social media experience while helping Ottawa reduce food waste, only 5-10 hours a week!
We are looking for someone to help Foodsharing Ottawa (FSO) oversee and produce content for our social media feeds to support FSO efforts to increase recognition, engage the community, and raise awareness of food waste issues. While previous experience in social media coordination and marketing is an asset, we value the following:

– 5-10 hours/week of availability
Responsibilities: As a Social Media Coordinator, you will oversee the scheduling and creation of content for our social media feeds (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). You will also work with other team members to respond to organizational needs for communications through our social media feeds, such as volunteer opportunity postings, community engagement events, and fundraising efforts. Additionally, you may provide advice or ideas on content to increase engagement, respond to messages and queries received through social media, maintain a repository of images for marketing purposes and presentations, track social media performance, and perform other administrative tasks.

Foodsharing Ottawa (FSO) has been reducing the amount of food waste in Canada’s capital since 2015. We rescue and donate most of our surplus food to a network of 40+ organizations in the city. We are passionate about supporting fairer, more sustainable ways of distributing, using, and disposing of food. We are looking for a motivated individual who shares this passion to work behind the scenes as our Social Media Coordinator.
