Special Needs Sports Program Volunteer

Description
Ausome Ottawa is looking for passionate, energetic volunteers to join us at our upcoming sports programs this fall! Our volunteers are paired with Ausome athletes and support them throughout the program sessions. You will run through activities and drills with our athletes, modeling skills, providing support and encouragement, and building connections with them as they learn and try out new things.
Volunteers must complete an application form and obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (if they are 18 years or older). Upon their acceptance, volunteers are encouraged to participate in our Ausome Community Training. We expect volunteers to commit a minimum of three hours a month, attend the program sessions for which they sign up, and notify staff if they are unable to make it. Please note that time commitments vary depending on the program. To apply to become a volunteer, please visit our volunteer registration page: https://bit.ly/ausome-volunteer-registration.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
What makes volunteering with us so AUSOME are the unique relationships volunteers build with our athletes so they can have fun in sport programs made for them! People volunteer with us for all kinds of reasons: to give back to the community, learn and develop skills, meet new people, fulfill school co-op or community service requirements, and more. Volunteers receive ongoing training and recognition for their continued efforts and dedication to Ausome.
How will the organization benefit?
Ausome Volunteers are the bridge that help our athletes and families participate in accessible sports programs. Our sports programs would not be able to operate without our engaged, brilliant volunteers who give their time and energy to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere for our athletes!
