Please Note: This new program will start on Wednesday June 14th from 5:45pm-8pm and occur biweekly. Volunteers will need to be available for most dates to ensure smooth function of the program for residents.
Volunteers with the Travelouge Centre wide Assistant will help to support and engage residents during a digital travel experience around the world.
Duties will include;
– Assisting residents to and from home areas throughout the building. This will require being able to push wheelchairs, training will be provided.
-Assist with room set up and clean up of tables, chairs and program supplies
-Engage in conversations with residents during and after the program related to that week’s theme
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
The volunteer will gain skills related to supporting older adults living with dementia and other cognitive/ physical impairments to meaningfully participate in activities. This will include adapting programs to meet a variety of needs.
How will the organization benefit?
Through the volunteer support for our Centre Wide Travelogue program residents are supported to continue learning about the world. Through volunteer support a larger number of residents will be able to actively engage and participate in the program. Through increased participation our residents' cognitive and emotional well-being will be supported.

Please note that we are not able to provide parking near the home. There is free on street parking with a time limit of 2 hours. The bright side we are on direct bus routes 6 and 7 that have stops right in front of the Centre on Bank street.
