Twice Upon a Time is looking for a new volunteer Treasurer. Twice Upon a Time is a charitable organization that gives books to children in the Ottawa area, to support literacy and encourage a love of reading. The Treasurer is a member of Twice Upon a Time’s Executive (other members are President, Vice-President, and Secretary) and sits on the Board of Directors. The overall role of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of Twice Upon a Time’s financial affairs, ensuring its viability, and ensuring that proper financial procedures are maintained. The Treasurer prepares and presents financial reports, assists with annual auditing, participates in the development and maintenance of the Donor Management System and prepares and submits tax returns to Canada Revenue Agency..
We are looking for someone with experience with financial control and budgeting, as well as some knowledge of fundraising. Good communication skills and a love of reading are an asset! This position requires an estimate of 7-8 hours per month.
