Volunteer Bookstore Co-Manager - OPL Main Branch - The Friends' Bookstore
You work with a co-manager and team of volunteers to oversee operations related to the
sale of donated used books, CDs, and DVDs in our Main branch bookstore.
You ensure store inventory, displays and shelved materials are well
maintained, attractive, and refreshed. This position will involve regular lifting materials around 10-20lbs.
You manage and schedule volunteers, prepare monthly reporting on
volunteer hours, and ensure that health and safety protocol is adhered
You recruit, coach, and ensure that volunteers receive appropriate
You liaise with OPL and FOPLA staff and management, and other relevant
contacts and stakeholders.
This position will be about 4-5 hours/week

About us: The Friends of the Ottawa Public Library Association (FOPLA) manages five bookstores, more than 20 self-serve bookshelves, a central Distribution Facility in Nepean, specialty monthly sales (eg Mammoth) , and an online used bookstore, kindreads.com
We are a volunteer-driven organization that, since its inception in 2003, has donated more than $4.2 million dollars to support Ottawa Public Library initiatives and programs.
