This position is a member of the executive board.Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to the Operations Chair
Must have Administrative experience and working knowledge of excel or another spreadsheet software program
Keeps a detailed contact list of all current, and previous volunteers
including their names, phone numbers, email addresses, preferred task/site location and t-shirt requirements
Continuously seeks and recruits’ volunteers
Creates relationship with Volunteers Ottawa organization
Places the volunteer inventory order (t-shirts, hats, etc.) with Souvenir Coordinator and distributes to Portfolio Leads who will distribute to their volunteers
Liaises with F&B coordinator to determine if there are food and refreshments requirements for volunteers
Arranges for training when required by communicating any needs to other Portfolios Leads requesting volunteers – Registration, Sites, Blockers, Souvenirs, etc.
Works with the Souvenir and Equipment coordinators to determine locations, tasks to be performed and the number of volunteers required at each site.
Works with 3rd Party Event Coordinator to developand arrange the Volunteer Appreciation Program
Works closely with Sponsorship coordinator on Volunteer appreciation event

This is good executive position that will provide a lot of experience working on a board and liaising with outside organizations as well a recruitment experience. Working closely with fellow board members to planning a large and successful event.
How will the organization benefit?
Our organization can not survive without volunteers, all positions on the board are volunteer positions and the event requires a large number of volunteers on the day in various capacities and locations. We need a strong volunteer recruitment plan and execution.
Volunteer location:
Our executive team meet in a boardroom on Catherine Street the first Wednesday of each month, more frequently in April and May, our event is held on the first Saturday of June each year. The start location of the event is in the Ottawa area and is subject to change exact location in any given year. We ask that the board members fulfill a 2 year commitment from September to June each year.
