Foodsharing Ottawa (FSO) has been rescuing surplus food in Canada’s capital since 2015. We donate most of our rescued food to a network of 40+ organizations in the city. We are passionate about supporting fairer, more sustainable ways of distributing, using and disposing of food. We are looking for someone who is motivated and shares this passion to be our Volunteer Coordinator.

What we are looking for?
We are looking for someone to help FSO continue to build its team by recruiting and onboarding volunteers. Although previous experience in human resources and/or volunteer coordination is an asset, we value the following:

Responsibilities:
As a volunteer coordinator, you will work with team leads to understand where volunteers are needed. You will be responsible for advertising volunteer positions and/or responding to unsolicited enquiries about volunteering at FSO. Other duties could include conducting information sessions for prospective volunteers to determine if they are a right fit for the organization. You will also be responsible for onboarding and checking in with volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience at FSO. Additional tasks will include maintaining a database and other administrative tasks.
