DWC- Volunteer Lead/ Newsletter Specialist
Description
This position has 1 spot available! Dreamers Walk Canada is a small up-and-coming nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers, dedicated to Cerebral Palsy awareness. This position is to work alongside the Director of Volunteers in achieving smoothly run events in Ottawa throughout the year. This position can involve things like note taking, coordinating emails, attending virtual meetings, and most importantly, making a volunteer newsletter monthly alongside the Volunteer Administrator.
This position does not require formal training or education, however both would be seen as an asset and strongly considered. You do not need to have disabilities to apply, but patience and understanding- along with AODA training, is required. Someone passionate about wanting to help those with disabilities is required, alongside creative, and dedicated are a plus.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Flexible hours, rewarding impact on the community here in Ottawa, hours for community service or equivalent required hours, a well deserved addition on your cover letter and resume, and potentially a fantastic first step in a field related to disabilities or community services.
How will the organization benefit?
Growth within the organization to hopefully spread to more provinces and territories, potential ideas and solutions from the amazing person. Coordinating volunteers is not an easy job, and has many moving parts that one person simply can't do-however more hands make for light work, and as the organization grows, many hands are needed.
