Hospice Care Ottawa is seeking volunteers to assist with driving clients to and from our Day Hospice Programs. Must live in Ottawa, Canada. Day Hospice is held at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata on Tuesday and Wednesday and at the May Court Hospice on Cameron Avenue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Volunteers are responsible for picking up the client at home and bringing them to the program for 10 am and then returning to pick them up and bring them back home at 2pm.
How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will build relationships with clients and know that they are supporting someone living with a life limiting illness.
How will the organization benefit?
Transportation is key in allowing clients to come to Day Hospice to allow respite for caregivers and to decrease isolation.
