GACSN is a Saturday recreation program for children, youth and young adults with special needs, ages 9 to 25. The program runs on Saturdays, 1 to 4 pm, September to June, at the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex, 1490 Youville Drive, Orleans.
Program begins with an hour of recreational swim, followed by arts and crafts, science experiments, games, and spending time with friends.
Volunteers enhance the program with their support and friendship. They are always within reach of staff, participating in all the activities. Swimming is the highlight of the program and all volunteers should be able to swim.
A police record check is required for volunteers 18+

The program has highly qualified staff and it operates on a 1:3 staff to participant ration. Our 1:3 pods rely on the help and support of volunteers.
