WHAT IS BAG-HALF-FULL?
We are a free grocery shopping and delivery service for vulnerable persons (e.g. elderly, immunocompromised, mobility issues) in Ottawa who are not able to shop for themselves. This initiative was started by University of Ottawa medical students in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for anyone in Ottawa who is interested in volunteering their time towards shopping for and delivering groceries. This is a flexible position, meaning that you can volunteer with us when and where it works for you. This position is a great way to serve our community in this time of crisis, and a great addition to your CV!
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO JOIN US?
You’ll need a valid Police Records Check (or recent reference letter from a previous work or volunteer position) and access to a vehicle.

How will this opportunity benefit the volunteer?
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help vulnerable individuals who are at high risk from serious illness due to COVID, or who are otherwise unable to go out and shop for their own groceries.
How will the organization benefit?
The organization does not benefit from the services we provide. Our service is provided free of charge to all of our clients.
