Description

Canadian Parents for French is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual to volunteer as a Volunteer Storytime Reader for our project with Bilingual Ottawa.

CPF has created a series of short French books about famous/popular monuments in Ottawa and are hosting some in person and virtual story time sessions. The sessions are directed towards kids ages 2-6. Through the book, kids will learn about Ottawa and how prevalent Bilingualism truly is in the city.

Volunteer readers will be responsible for leading virtual or in person sessions by reading our book on Ottawa along with one other book to children in the session. There will be multiple children for one session.

Sessions will be held on Zoom.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong spoken and written French and English is needed. Readers will be working in both official languages.

Prior experience working with children and youth is encouraged.

Must have access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and camera and a steady internet connection.

Must be at least 15 years old.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. All applicants will be contacted for a 15-minute bilingual interview.

Sessions are 45 minutes to hour long and will be held from mid-February until mid-March with the possibility of extending it until the end of March as needed.
