We are looking for Volunteer Youth Mentors to join our team and provide guidance and support to youth with developmental disabilities in the community. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing positive relationships with youth, providing guidance and support in their personal development, and helping them to develop skills that will help them succeed in life. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide a safe and supportive environment for our youth.

I am currently looking for mentors with the following interests to match with students wanting to know more about: Cooking, Architecture, Graphic Design, Animal care, Playing Guitar, Songwriting, Making a music video, Video game programming, Astronomy, Architecture, Sports, walks, building or woodworking, Learning to speak Japanese, being a Police officer, a pilot, as well as some students with not clearly identified interests who are in need of mentors to create experiences for them to allow them to explore and develop some. Please mention what interest you would like to share with a potential mentee.

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and support to young people in their personal and educational development.
Listen to young people and help them explore their feelings and emotions.
Help young people develop their self-esteem and confidence.
Develop positive relationships with young people and their families.
Encourage young people to make positive life choices.
Provide advice on educational opportunities, job prospects, and other areas of life.
Organize activities that are engaging and educational for young people.
Help youth to identify and explore interests.
